Osun Guber: Labour Party urges calm amid rising political violence

The Osun State chairman of the Labour Party, Mustapha Adebayo Muhydeen, appealed for calm following incidents of political violence, including gunshots and reported loss of lives in some communities. He recalled that during his inauguration on April 25, 2026, he had stressed peaceful coexistence ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Muhydeen urged political actors to exercise restraint and called on security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible. He also advised youths not to allow themselves to be used as agents of violence.
