The Ebonyi State Government has dismissed as false claims that it budgeted ₦16 billion for the running of its Abuja Liaison Office. Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene-Oketa, described the allegation by Chika Nwoba as 'malicious, fictitious and deliberately misleading'. He clarified that the ₦16 billion provision in the 2026 budget is for the development of a state-owned property in Abuja's Central Business District, not for the liaison office. The actual recurrent expenditure for the liaison office is about ₦77 million.
