World Travel Awards: Tarangire grabs Africa’s leading elephant paradise award

Nyerere National Park won the Africa Leading Scenic National Park award at the 2026 World Travel Awards, while Tarangire was named Africa’s Leading Elephant Paradise. Ephraim Mwangomo received the award for Nyerere, and Abdallah Okiwango accepted the Tarangire award during a ceremony in Zanzibar. Both parks had previously won these awards in 2025, highlighting the emergence of Tanzania's southern tourism circuit.
