Kenya convicts cult leader over the murder of 190 children

Paul Mckenzie, leader of a Kenyan cult, has been found guilty of murder after instructing followers to starve themselves and their children to death to reach heaven. Twenty-eight other cult leaders were also convicted. They were found guilty in the deaths of 190 children and one adult.

Gunmen kill at least 40 civilians in Mali

More than 40 civilians were killed in weekend attacks on camps in Mali’s northeastern Menaka region. Security and community sources told AFP that the attackers arrived on motorcycles.
