The Minister of State for Information, Communications Technology, and National Guidance, Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga, defended the Protection of Sovereignty Bill, stating it aims to protect Uganda's national interests from foreign interference. He emphasized that the government is open to foreign funding as long as it is transparent and aligned with national priorities. Kabbyanga also noted that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) remains politically strong following the January elections, where it secured about 71% of the vote.
