Average Nigerian can live on N3,000 daily — Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, Nigeria's Ambassador-designate to Mexico, stated that the average Nigerian can survive on N3,000 daily, arguing that poverty benchmarks should be considered within the economic context of individual countries. During a television program, he explained that after visiting markets, he found that this amount could cover essential needs in Nigeria, although it would be considered poverty in the United States. Omokri also distinguished between the World Bank's poverty criteria and the realities of living costs in Nigeria.
