Army foils deadly IED plot in Abia forest, recovers explosives

The Nigerian Army neutralized multiple Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in Umuchima Forest, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area on April 3, 2026. The operation followed intelligence reports, leading to the discovery of four IEDs intended to restrict troop movements. Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams were deployed to safely detonate the explosives on-site, while clearance operations have been intensified in the area to counter residual threats.
