Israel releases Hamas co-founder after two years in detention

Israel released Hamas co-founder Hassan Yousef after more than two years in administrative detention. He was arrested in October 2023 and jailed without trial. The 71-year-old was taken to a hospital in Ramallah where he was received by family members.

Ebonyi Govt denies budgeting ₦16bn for Abuja Liaison Office

The Ebonyi State Government has dismissed as false claims that it budgeted ₦16 billion for the running of its Abuja Liaison Office. Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene-Oketa, described the allegation by Chika Nwoba as 'malicious, fictitious and deliberately misleading'. He clarified that the ₦16 billion provision in the 2026 budget is for the development of a state-owned property in Abuja's Central Business District, not for the liaison office.
