Edo/Delta: When concession turns highway into hell

The concession of the approximately 125-kilometer Benin-Asaba Highway was launched in March 2025 with hopes for a smooth construction process. However, fifteen months after the handover ceremony, road users are facing greater hardships than before the concession. The concessionaire, the Benin-Asaba Expressway Concession Company (BAECC), promised to complete the reconstruction in 30 months, but the current situation has left drivers frustrated and disillusioned.
