World Bank Meets NYOTA Officials Amid Concerns Over Delayed Ksh25,000 Payments

The World Bank conducted a joint implementation support mission to review the progress of Kenya's NYOTA Project, meeting with NYOTA Fund manager Augustine Mayabi and other officials. The mission aimed to strengthen project implementation and address emerging challenges, particularly the delayed disbursement of the second Ksh25,000 tranche to over 122,000 youth beneficiaries across 47 counties. The government attributed the delays to budgetary constraints, and Cooperatives Principal Secretary Susan Mang'eni announced that funds would be disbursed by June 30, 2026, following consultations with the National Treasury.
