2027: Tinubu Delayed Tax Collection Over Election Fears, Kwankwaso Alleges

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, accused Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of delaying implementation of new tax laws for fear of losing the 2027 general election. Speaking at the inauguration of the NDC campaign council in Dutse, Jigawa State, he warned that tax collection could intensify if the APC won another mandate. Kwankwaso promised that the NDC would scrap taxes it considers unnecessary and sponsor children’s education if voters entrust it with power.
