Unchecked power greatest threat to democracy – Saraki

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki warned that unchecked power is the greatest threat to democracy, speaking at The Platform in Lagos on Democracy Day. He stated that Nigeria's democratic system was designed to ensure no arm of government operates without scrutiny. Saraki emphasized that the legislature, being closest to the people, plays a critical role in scrutinizing proposals and that legislators must be able to say no.
