Ogun State Environmental Agency General Manager Kehinde Bello said the incident was caused by underground emissions linked to geological and tectonic fault lines, not sabotage or a pipeline leak. He advised people exposed to the odour to cover their noses and mouths with a wet handkerchief; it was the fourth occurrence this year, following incidents dating back to April.
