OAGF announces new IPPIS rules for federal government payroll

The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) has begun re-engineering IPPIS payroll procedures to improve accountability, transparency and efficiency. Ministries, departments and agencies must formally request payroll admission for new recruits and submit supporting documents, while employee records, pay details, tax information and pension data will be checked. After OAGF validation, each employee’s record must be confirmed by designated officials at the relevant agency before final approval by the Accountant-General. The rules take effect immediately; incomplete files will be deferred, and officials responsible for breaches will be held accountable.
