2027: PDP Says It Will Never Support Tinubu’s Re-election

The Taminu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it would never support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. In a statement issued Tuesday by National Publicity Secretary Ini Ememobong, it responded to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike’s reported plan to align his political structure with Tinubu. The faction said opposition parties should offer an alternative to the incumbent and, if they form an alliance, should do so with one another rather than the governing party. It urged PDP members to await the Court of Appeal’s judgment in the party dispute and called on Nigerians to vote out the current political leaders next year.
