Jonathan, AGF ask court to dismiss suit on eligibility for 2027 poll

Former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Attorney General of the Federation have requested a Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss a suit aimed at preventing Jonathan from contesting the 2027 presidential elections. Lawyer Johnmary Jideobi argues that Jonathan has exhausted the constitutional limit for a president, having completed the tenure of late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. The court has scheduled May 26 for a composite judgment, which will include a ruling on Jideobi's application for the judge's recusal due to alleged bias.
