Tribunal Clears Way for Registration of The Ukombozi Alliance

Kenya’s Political Parties Disputes Tribunal lifted on October 29, 2026, the suspension blocking registration of The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA), the coalition set to replace the Azimio One Kenya Coalition. Kalonzo Musyoka said no tribunal order now stood in the way of registration and that the Registrar of Political Parties could proceed. Kalonzo, who leads the alliance after Uhuru Kenyatta, said it would seek to accommodate other parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Petitioners’ lawyer John Maina said the proposed allocation was unsupported by any existing law.
