DRC: at least 26 dead in school fire in Bukavu

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a fire that broke out Thursday morning in a school in Bukavu resulted in the deaths of at least 26 children, according to UNICEF. The students were in class when the fire started, causing widespread panic. Some children attempted to escape by jumping out of windows, while others were trampled in the chaos or died from smoke inhalation. A total of 25 children were also reported injured in this tragic incident.
