Ex-Nigerian oil minister denies taking bribes

Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Nigerian oil minister, denied asking for or receiving bribes during her trial at Southwark Crown Court. She stated that expenses incurred on her behalf during official duties were reimbursed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. The allegations include stays in luxury homes and costly renovations, but Alison-Madueke maintained that she did not abuse her office and that arrangements were managed by a service company in London.
