Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese Peter Chukwu dies at 60

Most Rev. Dr. Peter Chukwu, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, passed away on April 10, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on November 5, 1965, he was ordained a priest on July 3, 1993, and became the third bishop of the diocese on August 19, 2021. The Vicar General, Fr. Donatus Chukwu, expressed profound sorrow and called on the faithful to pray for the late bishop.
