Babacar Ba: “In a state governed by the rule of law, political opponents are fought with ideas”

Babacar Ba, coordinator of the Forum du Justiciable, condemned remarks attributed to Professor Arona Diouf, who reportedly called for Ousmane Sonko to be arrested. Ba warned that any action against Sonko outside democratic rules and the rule of law would be a serious violation of democracy and human dignity. He said political disagreements should be settled through debate and elections while respecting institutions, and expressed hope that the president would disregard what he described as calls from activists.
