The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) has warned traders, manufacturers, and distributors to sell only safe and quality products, increasing market surveillance to remove counterfeit, substandard and expired goods. Council chairman Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad announced unannounced inspections in shops, markets, and factories, and warned against fraudsters posing as council officials. Consumers are advised to carefully check expiry dates, manufacturer information, and ingredients before purchasing.
