US approves $414M uranium investment in Niger, two years after troops left

The US government has approved $414 million in financing for a uranium project in Niger, two years after the withdrawal of US troops. The Dasa project, developed by Canadian company Global Atomic, is described as the highest-grade uranium deposit in Africa. This initiative aims to bolster US access to a strategic resource as Niger, the world's seventh-largest uranium producer, is in dispute with French miner Orano.
