No plot to kill Atiku, APC campaign council declares

The APC Presidential Campaign Council rejected allegations by ADC member Timi Frank that there is a plot to assassinate Atiku Abubakar. Spokesperson Dele Alake said Atiku’s security detail has not been withdrawn and that the former vice president remains protected by the police and the Department of State Security. The council said President Bola Tinubu had ordered increased protection for candidates ahead of the 2027 elections and urged Frank to provide evidence to security agencies. It called the allegation political rabble-rousing but said any credible threat must be investigated.
