Algeria: France sends envoy to ease relations

French Minister Delegate for the Armed Forces, Alice Rufo, visited Setif to commemorate the 1945 repression of Algerian protesters by French colonial troops. She was accompanied by Ambassador Stéphane Romatet, who is returning to Algeria after being recalled. This visit is seen as a significant step towards rapprochement between Algiers and Paris, with the Élysée expressing its commitment to address relations honestly and restore effective dialogue.
