Former Govt Officials Liban Mohamed, Joe Sang & Daniel Kiptoo Released on Bail

Former Petroleum PS Mohamed Liban, ex-KPC MD Joe Sang, and former EPRA DG Daniel Kiptoo were released on bail on April 6, 2026, after being implicated in a Ksh4.8 billion fuel importation scandal. Their lawyers stated that the officials acted on recommendations from the National Security Council Committee. At least 20 other individuals have also come forward to provide statements regarding the scandal, which involves the importation of 69 million liters of sub-standard fuel.
