Appointment of Christian Adjélou as Head of the CNDH: Civil Society Outraged and Seizes Ouattara

Christian Adjélou has been appointed president of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH), a decision contested by the Platform for Citizen Engagement of Côte d'Ivoire (PEC-CI). The president of PEC-CI, Rémi Yao Ebrin, expressed his outrage at a press conference and has reached out to President Alassane Ouattara to contest this appointment, highlighting Adjélou's activism within the ruling party. PEC-CI is one of five major organizations that signed a partnership agreement with the government in 2024.
