20 feared dead as illegal mining pit collapses in Taraba

At least 20 people, including women and children, are feared dead or trapped after an illegal mining pit collapsed on Thursday afternoon in the Mayo-Kam community of Bali Local Government Area in Taraba State. Rescue operations are ongoing to locate and evacuate any remaining individuals who may still be trapped under the debris. So far, five bodies have been recovered by rescue teams.
