Benin: FCBE acknowledges the resignation of Paul Hounkpè

The FCBE's political bureau acknowledged the resignation of its national executive secretary, Paul Hounkpè, during an extraordinary session on April 29, 2026. This resignation, which occurred without justification, will be reviewed at the national council scheduled for May 9, 2026. Concurrently, Hounkpè announced his withdrawal from the party after receiving 5.73% of the votes in the April 12, 2026 presidential election, where Romuald Wadagni was elected with 94.27% of the votes.
