The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced an increase in fuel prices in Benin, effective May 1, 2026. The price of gasoline is now set at 725 FCFA per liter, diesel at 750 FCFA, and kerosene at 1,040 FCFA. Domestic gas prices have also been revised, ranging from 1,000 FCFA for a 1.5 kg bottle to 10,000 FCFA for a 12.5 kg bottle. This increase is justified by rising supply costs in the international market.
