Bini Dam in Warak: The State Prepares a Technical and Financial Audit Before Relaunching the Project with Savannah Energy

On March 31, 2026, the Ministry of Water and Energy issued a call for expressions of interest to recruit a consultant for a technical and financial audit of the Bini hydroelectric project in Warak. This project aims to enhance electricity supply in northern Cameroon and was awarded to Sinohydro Corporation Limited in 2013, but construction has been halted since 2018 due to financing issues. A total of 20 billion FCFA has already been invested in this project.
