Kano court restrains Senator Hanga's son over alleged defamatory social media posts

A Kano State High Court has issued an interim order restraining Muhammad Samir Rufa'i Sani Hanga from publishing or sharing alleged defamatory statements about Isa Ado Maidoya on Facebook and other social media platforms. Justice Jamilu Shehu Suleman granted the order after hearing an ex parte application filed by Maidoya's lawyer on July 3, 2026. Hanga, the defendant, is the son of Senator Rufa'i Sani Hanga, who represents Kano Municipal Senatorial District in the Senate. The case, filed as Suit No. K/650/2026, has been adjourned until July 30, 2026, for mention.
