Supreme Court goes fully digital, ditches paper records to curb tampering

Nigeria's Supreme Court started mandatory electronic filing of case documents on July 1, 2026, moving to a fully digital system. Chief Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun led this reform to replace the slow analogue system that hindered justice delivery. The Federal High Court in Lagos also adopted e-filing from June 23. These changes are part of the Nigerian Case Management System (NCMS) and the 2026 Practice Directions.
