In a statement dated April 23, 2026, BEAC Governor Yvon Sana Bangui announced a gradual increase in the repatriation rate of currencies from extractive companies in the Cemac zone. This rate, currently at 35%, will rise to 50% in January 2027 and then to 70% in January 2028. This measure aims to strengthen the foreign exchange reserves of the region's states to better cope with their imports.
