China rolls out zero-tariff access for Nigeria, 52 other African countries

China has announced the implementation of zero-tariff measures for 53 African countries, including Nigeria, effective May 1, 2026. This policy aims to strengthen trade ties and facilitate access for African exports to the Chinese market. Nigerian goods, particularly agricultural exports like sesame and cocoa, will enjoy easier access, provided they meet quality standards.
