Ebola: Encouraging Signs, but a Still Fragile Situation

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports 'encouraging signs' in the fight against the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a decrease in transmission in Ituri province and no new cases reported in South Kivu since May. However, over 7,200 cases have been reported, resulting in more than 3,500 deaths, and the situation remains fragile, particularly in North Kivu province. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the outbreak continues to progress and cause fatalities.
