Congo: At 78, Claude Le Roy returns to coach the Red Devils

French coach Claude Le Roy, 78, has been appointed head coach of Congo's national team, the Red Devils, according to a statement from the Ministry of Sports on June 9, 2026. His main objective is to qualify Congo for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, succeeding Isaac N'Gata. Le Roy, winner of the 1988 AFCON with Cameroon, previously coached Congo from 2013 to 2015. He will officially assume his role on June 22, 2026.
