‘Deep suspicion’ of US lingers as Iran ponders agreement to end war

Iranian lawmaker Abbas Moghtadaei described the fundamental distrust towards the US as a delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf returned from Qatar to discuss an agreement to end the nearly three-month-long war. The Foreign Ministry accused Washington of violating the ceasefire by attacking Hormozgan province, which heightened suspicions towards the US. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have shot down a US drone in retaliation for the strikes.
