Since the New Democracy party came to power in 2019, Greek annual salaries are the second lowest in the European Union, just after Bulgaria. Although the minimum wage has been restored to 920 euros per month and average wages have reached 1,516 euros, living standards have only increased by 3 points in five years. Greeks continue to face economic challenges despite rapid economic growth since the COVID-19 pandemic.
