DHQ clarifies identity of neutralised terrorist commander Al-Minuki

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) clarified the identity of Abu-Bilal Al-Minuki, a terrorist commander recently neutralised in a joint operation with the United States Africa Command. Spokesman Maj.-Gen. Samaila Uba explained that identical names are common among ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters. Al-Minuki, eliminated on May 16, 2026, has been identified as a senior operative within the Islamic State network, with direct links to international terrorist coordination and funding in the Sahel.
