DHQ confirms Borno military base attack, keeps mum on 'killing' of Brigade Commander

The Defence Headquarters confirmed an attack by Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists on a military base in Benisheikh, Borno State. While some soldiers were reported killed during the attack, the DHQ did not comment on reports regarding the death of Brig.-Gen. O. O. Braimah. Clearance operations are ongoing to track fleeing insurgents and prevent them from regrouping.
