Diourbel: Accused of Rape, Modou Fall Acquitted After More Than 3 Years in Detention

The Criminal Chamber of the Diourbel High Court acquitted Modou Fall, accused of raping a minor, after more than three years of preventive detention. Prosecutor Farba Niowi Ngom requested the acquittal due to a lack of sufficient evidence. Modou Fall, 38 years old and residing in Touba Darou Rahmane, was arrested on May 12, 2023, following a complaint from the mother of his partner, Aïda Guèye. He consistently maintained that the relationship was consensual.
