Djibouti's President Ismael Omar Guelleh has been re-elected with 97.8% of the vote, according to state-owned Radio Television Djibouti. At 78 years old, Guelleh begins his sixth term, extending his 27-year rule. He faced opposition candidate Mohamed Farah Samatar, while two opposition parties boycotted the elections. Despite accusations of repressing opponents, the government denied abuses and reported an 80.4% voter turnout.
