A panel of the Brazilian Supreme Court voted to convict Eduardo Bolsonaro, a lawmaker and son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, for lobbying the United States to interfere in his father's trial. Three of four justices voted in favor of conviction, calling it coercion against Brazil's justice system. Eduardo Bolsonaro was sentenced to four years and two months in prison. Justice Cristiano Zanin said his actions were 'illegitimate and criminal.' Jair Bolsonaro is serving a 27-year sentence for an attempted coup after losing the 2022 election.
