Sokoto Government Shuts ADC Office Over Disputed Ownership

The Sokoto State Government has shut an African Democratic Congress (ADC) office over questions about the building’s legal ownership. Commissioner for Lands and Housing Nasiru Dantsoho said the closure was also intended to prevent another confrontation between party supporters and suspected troublemakers. Government records showed the property registered to the defunct Savannah Bank, with no subsequent transfer documented. The government has asked the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), which oversees the bank’s assets, to clarify ownership and will keep the office closed pending its response.
