ECOWAS: RSF takes Benin and Ivory Coast to court for the arrest of 2 journalists

The organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) filed a complaint with the ECOWAS Court against Benin and Ivory Coast for their role in the arrest of two journalists, Hugues Comlan Sossoukpè and Ali Moumouni, in July 2025. Hugues, an investigative journalist, was arrested in Abidjan while covering an event, despite his status as a political refugee. The complaint denounces serious violations of rights and demands their immediate release.
