Ekiti Guber: IGP deploys CP Shogunle for peaceful, violence-free poll

The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has deployed Commissioner of Police Abayomi Shogunle to Ekiti State as the Commissioner of Police for the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026. The deployment aims to ensure adequate security and a peaceful, violence-free poll. CP Shogunle immediately strengthened the implementation of the IGP's enforcement protocols, including intelligence mapping to neutralize political violence, anti-thuggery and anti-cult activities, and counter-misinformation campaigns. He previously led the election security operation for the peaceful November 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.
