Approximately 256,467 voters in Djibouti cast their ballots to potentially confirm a sixth term for President Omar Ismail Guelleh, who has been in power since 1999. Analysts predict continuity for the 77-year-old leader, who won 97% of the votes in the last elections in 2021. Guelleh is competing against Mohamed Farah Samatar, but his party, the PRP, is expected to retain a super majority in parliament.
