Erias Lukwago: Uganda opposition figure Kizza Besigye's lawyer charged with treason-linked offence

Former mayor and lawyer Erias Lukwago, representing detained treason-accused opposition figure Kizza Besigye, has himself been charged with failure to report treason. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody. His arrest was boasted about on social media by Uganda's army chief Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who shared photos of him blindfolded and threatened to inflict hurt and pain. Opposition politician Bobi Wine condemned the act.
