Civil Status, Identification: ONECI Strengthens Capacity of Speakers in Local Languages for Effective Relay

The National Office of Civil Status and Identification (ONECI) organized a training seminar for speakers in national languages on June 9, 2026 in Abidjan. Director General Christian Kodia Ago emphasized the need to bring state services closer to citizens, especially in rural areas. The speakers will serve as community relays to popularize civil status and identification reforms. The training aims to improve understanding of the systems and strengthen public adherence.

Residents of several communities in Bida Local Government Area, Niger State, have expressed relief as electricity supply is gradually restored after weeks of blackout that disrupted economic and social activities.
